The Mindfold Relaxation MaskThe Mindfold Relaxation Mask is a terrific tool we came across almost entirely by accident, and it turned out to be quite a serendipitous find. Never have we come across a relaxation mask more suitable for meditation, making the Mindfold a perfect complement to our Insight Program.

Unlike most relaxation or sleep masks, the Mindfold mask is uniquely pre-cut with “eye-holes”, allowing you to keep your eyes open underneath the mask. The mask effectively blocks all light, leaving the meditator in complete darkness, even with eyes wide open. As many of our customers have discovered, simply leaving your eyes open can provide a very different meditative experience than meditating with eyes closed. Breathing Technique: Belly Breathing

This breathing technique is designed to relax the body by making sure you are breathing as deeply as possible. Most people breathe by moving the chest rather than the diaphragm. Practicing the Belly Breathing technique will help you learn to breathe more deeply by moving the diaphragm.

Place a hand on your abdomen, below your navel. Inhale slowly and deeply, feeling your abdomen rise beneath your hand as you fill with air.

Exhale slowly, feeling your hand sink inward as you use your diaphragm to push the air out.

Continue to breathe this way, focusing on using your diaphragm instead of your chest to move the air in and out of your body.
